Yesterday I asked my friend on BBM what's his Z30 like as I'm thinking of upgrading from my Z10 to the Z30, here's his response.

"It's like owning a Nokia 1100, since I had it, it never died on me. Awesome battery life, I charge it once after two days"

I need a new device, and I like to always buy the latest when it's time to buy. The Z30 was announced in September last year, so It's a bit oldish. I was hoping there would be signs of the Z30 successor right now.

I'm all for buying the Z30 but I'm impatiently waiting for the next all touch device from the Z series (Z50 perhaps?!)

Can't wait to have all the goodies, bigger screen, faster CPU, Miracast, WiFi direct, FM, USB OTG and who knows what else!

I am bought and sold 6 z30's the past month and a half because everyone I have shown the device to and let them play with and answered their questions, have wanted to buy it, so I ended up selling it to them.

I even had to get my BlackBerry PIN reset because I switched so many devices the past two months, but BlackBerry support was kind enough to reset it, so I keep preaching the BlackBerry brand here in the USA, proudly with my BlackBerry z30 in my hand.

I still believe that only way to properly market the device is to use the "hands on" approach, just my two cents.

Yep, there's something about the Z10 that just makes it win when deciding to move on to the Z30 or stay on the Z10

The form factor of the z10 is excellent and it does fit my hand and pocket better then the z30, but the bigger screen sells the z30 for me. The extra real estate for messaging and composing emails is a huge feature for me.

I am very happy with the Z30, running on 10.3 (did not have any issues with 10.2.1). I love my Z10- I prefer the back on the Z10 over the back on the Z30. The battery life is better on the Z30 and you get the larger screen. Brightness on the Z10 is also better. They both have their pros and cons- but Z30 is a better experience for me.

Yeah I guess it's the size and it's just the right size for a smartphone
I'll surely be upgrading to another device after August tho. If there's no news of a new all-touch that will come out before 2014 ends, I'll surely go with the Z30. If there is some news, I'll gladly wait for the successor.

The 5" plus phones aren't for everyone. I thought I wouldn't like such a big phone but after betting use to it I'm not sure I could go back to a smaller one.

I'm with you on this. I am debating going back to my Z10 from my Z30. The issue is battery life.. I would have to go back to carrying the two batteries and the spare charger. Also, the speakers on the Z30 are great. I play my music on it in the hotel when traveling and I don't wish to have my earbuds in. The Z10 has an awesome form factor that cannot be denied. However, the battery life, speakers, and screen real estate make it hard for me to go back.

My only complaint with the Z30 is that the curved back cover makes it harder to hang on to than the Z10. If they made a snap on back cover that squared the device off like the Z10, I'd be the happiest Berry user in all the realm

On a side note, the Z30 is the first BlackBerry I've ever had where I actually broke the screen by dropping it. Big disappointment. After what I did to the Z10..... well, let's just say the Z10 is way more durable

I moved from the Z10 to the Z30, and to be honest with the ONLY thing that I would miss the 10 for is that display. The Z30 kills the Z10 in every other way!!

I've just updated to a Z30 from Z10 which I've had from the day it was released in the UK.

I like the Z30 but there are a couple of things that bug me....the screen is very poor in bright sunlight and the camera is not that good in poor light situations which is surprising given its supposed to be the same hardware.

Deciding to keep the Z30 will depend on me being able to live with these problems...

The camera isn't the best or the software isn't. I find the screen, when turned up, better than my Toshiba encore tablet in bright sunlight. It has an IPS LCD display.

Battery life on the Z30 is not exaggerated. It is the biggest highlight of this phone.

For a 5" form-factor the phone is awesome, however as a daily-driver or for single-handed use I find it unpractical as it is too big.The Q10 is the perfect size for single handed use and I find myself using my Q more than I do my Z30. So I balance every day based on my expected use of my phone. If the 5" screen is what you want, I say go for it!

Is there a reason why people ignore the non-removable battery? I mean in about 2 years or so, the battery life will be nothing to brag about. So I get that the device is great and all, but the non removable battery was a complete deal breaker. I have a bold 9700 and a bold 9900 still functional because I can replace the battery.
My brother has a Sony xperia (I forget which model exactly) with an non removable battery which he got just 2 years ago, and as of now, it's completely useless, as it has to be charged every 20mins. Plus I've owned built in battery devices before and personally that's why I couldn't even consider getting the z30.

Hardware is not evolving as fast as it used to in computers for years. Esp CPU. World economy sucks. Why should business invest millions to chase incremental advances in tech for little to no profit and alot of risk. It makes no sense at all.

I dont see a reason why I could not be happy with a Z30 for the next two years.

TRUE FACT: What billionaire still uses a Nokia Flip phone? Warren Buffet. His only email he sent on wound up in court as evidence in a case so he doesn't email.

Ive got the Z30 and a Q5. My Z30 sits on my desk on a cradle 99% of the time and my Q5 goes with me everywhere.

Q5 suits all of my needs and I basically got it for free. Slap a rubberized hard case on it or the premium hard shell and the "cheapness" feeling of the Q5 is gone. My job is too rough to be carrying around a $400 phablet everywhere.

As everyone else has stated, the worst part of the Z30 is its dim screen. It pales in comparison to the Q5.
