I've noticed the last three or four days that my battery seems to be discharging at an increased rate.

Normally I take the phone off charge around 6.15am, use it for emails and bbms. (light usage) I get home around 6.30pm and have over 50% left. Now, I'm lucky to have 25%.

I've attached a screen shot of today's discharge. Do these figures look right?

Do you maybe have some android stuff running that isn't showing up, ? I got rid of a couple android apps and I stopped the fast drain.

I will check. The last android app I downloaded was Netflix. I will delete it and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.

    Netflix is fine for me.
When in doubt, do a restart.
I've never seen 39% system usage on mine though. Something is going wonky.

Just a double thank you. It turned out to be a seagate global access app I had installed. With this removed my phone is back to normal, Stella service.. see attached

Well, I put Netflix back on and looked what happened today..

So it has to be Netflix app causing this massive drain.

I have Netflix on mine and don't see the same drain. I downloaded mine from amazon. Not sure if that would make a difference but you can try it

I'm still getting big drain on my battery daily now. Is there any app I can use to show me where the battery drain is coming from? Which process etc. Ideally, one that covers Android apps as well.

Here is my usage for today. I've hardly used the phone today as I've been in training sessions for most of the day.

Does anyone have any input into an app that gives me a break down of what's been using the battery? I've just taken two screen shots, one showing the battery usage since my last charge and one showing the last 48 hours. Is the system figure correct?
Any advice would be welcomed. Just for the record, I've sent 4 texts and received three in the last 2 days. So how on earth the text battery usage is so high is beyond me.

Some have mentioned that after an update or a new memory card install that extra system usage can happen, I have also heard of some micro SD cards causing a drain. You could try taking your SD card out for a day( if you have one) and see it that makes a difference.

Your system usage is insane! Mine is 8% since last charge and 15% over 48hrs. I am on this thing constantly. If you tap system from the device monitor, look at the graphs and see if you can find some patterns in the cpu usage between the 2 days recorded. If you find that it is spiking at specific time of the day, I would check the cpu usage of the device monitor at that time tomorrow. It could be some headless app gone crazy. There's no shortage of crappy apps on BBW. Of course you should also download task manager from snap and check it at the same time.

In this one System is a bit high, but from what I've seen 20% and under should be about the norm. However Text Messaging looks to be a bit high here, and really high in your more recent screen shots. Especially if you've only sent/received 4/3 over two days.

On my Z30, I kept an eye on the device monitor because I saw that System kept using quite a bit of battery. Any time it would start going up, I'd reboot and it took care of it for awhile. Now I haven't had to reboot in quite awhile and it's become pretty stable.

I'd suggest doing the same; keeping an eye on it and rebooting when necessary. If it continues more than 2 days like this, there may be an issue with the network and how it's syncing text messages. I'm not really sure where to go if it's a network issue -- maybe try a new SIM card?

Off we go again. I've seen massive cpu usage from about 4pm till 8pm this evening. The phone was in the boot of my car so was never even touched.

I think my os is not well. It shows a big usage on text messages but I haven't received or sent any today. Mad.

Hey I'm actually surprised no one posted this yet. And if I missed someone's previous post I'm sorry. But here you go: click on storage and then click on Netflix. Give it about 10 seconds to update after clicking on it. You'll see spinning icon in top right corner while it's updating the info

That area shows you exactly how much battery, CPU, and Data it has used recently.

To me it does look like the text app within the os has gone astray. Look at these figures

    Message to mods.

I've found another thread about this very problem lurking in the Z10 forum. It seems there is now a Q device, Z10 and my Z30 all with this issue (unread sms draining battery).

With is in mind, would it be a good idea to amalgamate these threads and possibly move them to the OS10 forum as it is now officially an OS issue and not device specific?
