    Legit question

NFC is always a bullet point on these phones. But rarely utilized. Personally, I've never used it. Same with my 9900. I always remember seeing the chip in the battery cover for the 9900, but had an opportunity to try it.

Do you use it on your BB10 device?

I use it on my credit card all the time with the pay pass. And now I see it at places like McDonald's for Apple Pay. So people are using it on other devices.

I don't use nfc on my Z30 (Canada) but from what I've read it will be available at more merchants in the future, and hence more mobile use of nfc... and since one doesn't need an Internet connection to use it, it should be used more often in the future once there is generally more infrastructure and availability. I know that some people do use it but I don't see that very often.

I've used it through our "Timmies" app here in Canada at Tim Hortons many times.

Works fine even through a Defender case.

I use NFC quite often but not for what you are thinking about . My exclusive use on my Passport is for picture transfers from and to other phones.

I use NFC Tags in the car to activate Bluetooth without me having to fumble with the swipe gestures. Pretty handy.

The NFC is not generalise use in banking sectors , mart stores payment , shops payment and metro (sub way) fares. The NFC mostly use for peer to peer.

Besides some document, photo and contact transfer, I use NFC with tags to enable BT and my "driving mode" on my phone when I get in my car and it automatically disables them when I get out. With tags, at night when I put my phone on my nightstand it automatically puts my phone in bedside mode and activates my alarm. I use a couple of tags at work to activate my time tracking app and enable wifi when it gets placed on my desk. I use a couple of other tags at home for auto BT and Wifi and phone going to vibrate mode.

There are some apps that do similar functions but they require location /GPS to be enabled and I refuse to use those services on my phone for several reasons.

I used it for my Timmie's app when it was my daily driver, as well as for transfer of files and such between phones. I still keep the Z30 lying around and still use it for grabbing all files through the Snap app which I then transfer to my daughter's Q10.

Used it last week, for the first time, in a museum, to open web pages describing the exhibits I was in (most of the info in the exhibits was in a language I cannot read). Worked pretty well, definitely more convenient than scanning smart tags.

I've used it many times to transfer files to my wife's phone. I think it's cool to be able to do this even without any wifi connection.

Same. I wanted to use it to pay with my phone, but don't think my z30 can do that yet. Lately I've kept my credit card in the back of my phone case so I can conveniently use the tap-to-pay terminals we have here in Canada.
