Currently, I don't have internet service at home. Can I get a new Z30 from Verizon up and running without a computer and without internet service? I do have a laptop computer which I used to recently have connected to the net. I've occasionally taken the laptop to the library to connect it via their WiFi access point.

    TIA for any help.

No you don't need the Internet or computer.

Yes, you should be activated without a computer. You should actually be activated before you leave the store. A computer with BB Link is required to back-up your device, though. Also if you want to side-load any apps.

And, it's a good idea to have one, none the less..

As functional as mobile devices are, they will not replace the Desktop/laptop anytime soon.
Just try designing and building a "Professional" website with your Mobile Device.(that's not open for debate on this thread.)
It, no doubt, can be done. But, then, I wouldn't even entertain the idea of actually watching a movie on a 5" screen, either!

No. You put the SIM card in (if it's not already) and dial a number to activate it. No sweat.

    1. Designing and building a professional website is not an every day average Joe task

    2. Movies on 5" screen? That is what TVs are for.

So no you do not need a computer.

Not only can you set it up without a computer, once you set it up, you won't be using your computer anymore for anything other than backing up your Z30.

No you don't need Internet. It's just good to have in case you need to troubleshoot

You should have a computer for other reasons. Like backing up the OS, transferring photos, and if you want more apps like from Google play you would need a computer to install Snap. Native app that downloads and installs directly off Google play.

This is the silliest post. While I agree full size work stations aren't going anywhere. For MOST people, like the OP, they are entirely superfluous.
