Hi all, I am a SGS2 and PlayBook (RIP) owner, next week i'm coming back to BB with a Z30. I used to use a 8530 a few years a go, looking forward to trying out the OS10 interface. I'm guessing it's similar to PBOS.

Any must have apps I should consider?

I have owned an iphone 5s and can honestly say the Z30 is the better phone. I have been able to do more faster. I am on ATT and am using a -5 model. No LTE but 4G has been plenty fast for me. Don't like Big Red so this works for me. Maybe, just maybe, ATT will pull there head out and offer the Z30! Until then I am rocking the Z30!

You'll be amazed that the Z30 and 8530 are made by the same company.

I liked the PlayBook OS but BlackBerry 10 is even better than that... especially the Z30. It's faster than my Z30, and the screen is really nice too. The speakers are SO good, I listen to a lot more music on my Z30 than I did on my Z10 or even my Q10 which has a good speaker.

I hope you like your Z30 as much as everyone here is liking theirs.

Welome back! It is a great phone. As for apps, in order to install Android apps, there are several options. I used Amazon app store which is easy to install, and Snap, which is a sideload. Just do a search here.

I also have an iPhone 4s for work. I really, really do not like it. It just reinforces my dim view on the whole Apple ecosystem. I did consider the new HTC coming out soon as I'm tired of Samsung (although to be fair, they are really good devices), but I've always been a BB fan at heart. The Z30 is a good excuse to come back. The Q10 was in the running, as I missed the keyboard from my 8530, but the larger screen on the Z30 won me over.

One thing you should definitely try, that you don't read a lot about here , is the Universal Search feature. It's VERY efficient. For example, typing fb let's you update your Facebook status, tw for updating Twitter, bb for Blackberry Message, enter a website directly into it and so on . You pretty much can use it for anything. Use it to look for apps and after a few times and it builds a grid of your frequently used apps letting you just open the Universal Search instead of swiping for apps.
You'll find the idea of swiping through pages of apps bizarre after awhile.
It's definitely my favorite feature!

�29 pcm with 4G EE, 2GB data allowance, just waiting for the number to transfer over now. Saw a bunch of apps that were installed on my PlayBook that I could install. Just going to install the 3rd Party app stores as there is at least one droid app I need and one bank app I would like.

You've made the right decision! now as for apps I would say all you really need is CB! it's the best app around but I'm sure you'll find others that will help you run your beast better, we all have. And welcome to the growing list of many happy Z30 owners.
If BlackBerry is in the name you know it's getting back in the game.

If you just click on the notification icon in quick settings, it will toggle to the last setting that you used
