Update: Placed an order for this last night, Bumper Series BlackBerry Z30 Case - Red

Previously ordered the Transform, but just like most others said, it won't stay upright due to the hinge being thick rubber, don't waste your time on it. Sent it back to Amazon.

Edit: Please keep 'em coming, I know from past experience Amazon nor is any one store showing every case. Sometimes the best cases aren't even on Amazon or BB Store or Crackberry store. Z30 seems to be like the Nexus 4, major case makers just didn't back it and it took me several buys and then finally stumbling onto an amazing case.

While I'm waiting the next week for my Z30 to arrive, please suggest cases with pros/cons. Not looking for industrial impact proof, nor water resistance, prefer something slim not bulky. Mostly in my pocket our on the car dash.

I know this doesn't answer your post but for a simple slim case, like myself, you might end up taking it off and rocking the phone naked. There's always that feel for necessity for a case with a new phone, but after a month or two once you take off that case and try it naked for a day or two, you'll wonder why you ever wanted a case. Plus the Z30 is super durable

Got my z30 for 1.5 months now. Never used or intended to use a case or bumper. The phone feels great as it is. Got only one small scratch on the back cover, but it is hardly noticeable.

I recommend using a screen protector. This is indispensable.

My advice if you really want a case, get the leather pouch. That looks classy. Don't add useless cheap plastic bulk to this beautiful phone.

Get a glacier white otter box commuter. Adds a bit of bulk but makes the phone into an absolute blast. Don't listen to the other idiots in this thread that are saying the Z30 is durable and to use it naked. The Z30 is not durable and the screen can easily shatter if you don't use a case.

I know what you mean, I never had cases on my other BB phones, I do have a maximum case for the Playbook. For some reason I never had to cover the screen with plastic film protection, never scratched any of my phone screens. I did get a case for my Nexus 4 but the was due to the glass back. found any excellent case which actually was a bumper with a clear plexiglass rear plate, very tight and slim. Always seems if I drop a phone it hits a corner first, so I may look first to a bumper.

Those are running $5.80 on Amazon, some complaints about the back stands trying to retract or slide closed, can you verify this? Or dispel the reports?

My Z30 has been in a BlackBerry "Transform" case since it was new in Oct.2013. It has been dropped numerous times and shoved into coat pockets with keys etc. And there is not a single mark or scratch on it. This case has done it's job.

I have the Z30 Flip case. I liked it on the Z10. It works well on the Z30.

sorry about the glare, did have a problem with cases being tight and pushing the battery door into the power button, but I carefully carved a little space and never had that problem again

The Z30 Transform case does not work well as a stand. The one for the Z10 works fine as a stand, but not the Z30 version.

Mine is the BlackBerry leather with the clip. The reason I chose it is mainly for the sleep wake of the screen, and nearly allround protection. However, I removed the clip as it is to bulky to clip to belt or trousers. Not an easy job to remove it, but it is now very much feels like the bold 9700 case that had before.
Tried my best to attach a picture here but it doesn't seem to work!!

I have this case and it always slid closed on me. The equivalent for my Z10 worked perfectly. I gave up on it for the Z30. Shame as I love the principle.

Edit: This was what I bought to replace it. Simple, cheap, works well.

The Trident case is a great case with very responsive rubber buttons for the volume and top power button. Nice color combinations also. I also have a wallet style that covers the screen and has slots for cards but buttons are not very responsive.
