Profile Changer Pro runs headless now too - and gets updated regularly. It would be nice if BB10's profiles were natively switchable by the clock, but they're not. So you'll need a 3rd party app, and Profile Changer Pro works as well as any. The dev also makes many other BB10 apps and keeps everything up to date.

Where did you get your tags? Do you need a special app or is it built into the phone?

Power Tools has this ability. It can also set the profile by location, so if you want vibrate when you're at home and normal when you're not, it can do that.

I should add that, for me, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I got some from tagger.ca that do the job. Fun stuff to fool around with. This one switches off/on cell/wifi radios depending on the last state, leaving /arriving.

Just ordered some cheapo ones myself, having never used them before does the phone ask you to confirm the action when you use the tag?

Yup, many third party apps can do that. But the challenge I'm having is that I'd like to disable the radio from 2 am - 7am because I sleep with my phone next to me. Is there an app that controls the radio in this way, scheduling a time to shut off and on.

You could put it in Beside Mode and quiet all notifications.

That's still one feature I miss from the older BBOS. It could turn the phone off and on at a preset time. The alarm clock would still work but otherwise the phone was OFF.

^^^^^^this. I plug my Z30 in, go to the lock screen and pull down the crescent moon from the top and drag it all the way down. I have mine set for phone calls only in case of emergencies.

I just set a repeated meeting from 1am to 6am everyday.
My Z30 then automatically switches to "meeting profile " at the set time.

Let's see if anyone has suggestions for an app. In the past there have been discussions that BB's protocols did not allow developers to control certain aspects of the device - I think those were in regard to wifi. But I'm not so sure.

And that is why I still miss that feature of the older BB's - they could turn OFF and ON at pre-set hours. Once set, I did not have to remember to change functions or engage functions and it really preserved the battery if I had forgotten to throw it on the charger. There must be some aspect of the bb10 OS that does not allow that feature.
