Hey it's been a while since I've made a thread
    Here's the story

My brothers 9900 is acting up and he's near the end of his contract with Telus. He wants a bb10
But doesn't want a Z10 because I already have it and doesn't want Z30 because it's too big

I came up with the solution that Since my z10 is great shape and he's due for an upgrade that he gets the z30 and i trade him my z10 for it

Here's the thing I'm on Rogers and he's on Telus
Could I unlock my Z10 and make it work on Telus for him?
And could he get the Z30 unlocked and get it to work on Rogers?

We haven't gone through with it yet because we don't know when his contract is up but it's soon and I wanna know before we do this for sure

So crackberry nation help a brother out

I believe that the Z30 like the Z10, is capable of working on all the providers from Robellus through to Wind/Mobilicity including T-Mobile (assuming it is unlocked). Don't quote me on it though, but that's what I recall reading from a few online postings from Craig's List and Kijiji.

What do you mean? I don't mind taking my phone to one of those phone kiosks in the mall or China town and paying to get it unlocked

That would be great of it does, I'm sure Telus and Rogers use similar phones and frequency.
I had a bad exprience with unlocked Blackberrys
Back in the day I bought an unlocked storm and brought it Rogers and because it was a version model Rogers didn't even carry the storm I was only able to get 2G instead the mighty 3G of the time
    I don't want a similar issue where i can't get LTE

It should. I have an unlocked Bell Z10 which I use a Fido data SIM (Rogers network) for tethering at my cottage. Works on HSPA and LTE bands, not sure about the AWS spectrum which Rogers uses as LTE MAX.

Most of those booths that sell cases, etc can do it... if you're up in Markham area.. stop by Pacific mall... they'll do it for $20 or less.

The -5 from Telus will support Rogers LTE Max on 2600 MHz. It'll work once you unlock it; $45 on CrackBerry, may or may not be cheaper at a brick-and-mortar.
