    I'd recently been noticing a that my battery charge had been draining faster than normal for periods of time and checked TaskManager whenever this appeared to be happening and saw something running labeled "C2DM". Beneath it is "com.google.android.gsf"

    I never saw this before these periods of rapid drain occurring. Even when I 'kill' it, the item appears again later on.

    Is this what's causing the rapid drain? What is it?

    Not rapid but faster for the last couple days. I haven't changed anything.

    It's a BlackBerry Z30 on Big Red

    I believe "com.google.android.gsf" is or is part of Google Play Services.
    Are you running a custom or patched version of Google Play Services to get some android apps to run?

    Nope, not that I'm aware of, just the standard Snap, Amazon store and Blackberry world
