Who is really considering purchasing the galaxy s5 over the Z30?? ..because I can tell you there isn't anything special there's a lot of gimmick features on this phone, and the android Os is not at par with QNX Which is BLACKBERRY...also the quad cores, and octocores who cares that's irrelevant....the Z30 is a very capable smartphone bigtime

Don't let that hold you back. The Z30 is a great device and it works very well on the AT&T network.

Just make sure it is an STA100-5 and you'll be fine.

Why would that be? The GSV is a great phone; though not much of an upgrade over the GSIV, it'll still win over more people if set side by side with a Z30.

Last night I got to play with S5. I didn't like it at all. Some of the buildin apps come with very basic features. BB10 is complete os. Now my cousin want Z30 after I showed him Z30 vs his S5.

Speakers of Z30 did it for him

I've been using an unlocked STA100-5 on AT&T for several months and it's perfect.

It's a samsung galaxy phone right? Based on the 5 of every generation I've bought for my house it's as likely to completely fail in any given critical area as it is to bog down and lag beyond usability within 7 to 8 months. That's why. Have you used many? I have been ripped off by Samsung more times than I'd like to admit.

I know several people who own Galaxy S phones and haven't heard any complaints. They're quite popular. I don't have any real experience personally as I'm not an Android guy

Well I do. And it hasn't been pretty. So that's why I said what I said. If you search the internet you'll find lots of funny videos including samsung threatening users to take down videos describing defects in their devices. I'm a very unhappy samsung customer. I would never recommend them to anyone. Ever.

I personally wouldn't buy one either, but I'm just saying that most would, and most would choose it over a Z30. That's has a lot to do with publicity.

I plan to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S5 and never seriously considered purchasing a BlackBerry Z30. I don't get the point of your question, though. Many people on CrackBerry will agree with you while millions of other people won't.

The STA100-1 never made it to mass market, so you can't buy it anywhere.

If you purchase the phone from ShopBlackBerry.com, you will get the STA100-5 which works fine with AT&T. The only thing is it will be just 4G instead of full LTE in most locations. That's the only annoyance I have with June, otherwise it's a great phone.

The S5 is loaded with a lot of useless features that leave owners wondering why the phone is so hyped up.

Same here in #TheNetherlands #KPN. Hence, went from a #Z10 to a #Q10. Heard recently thought that prices have dropped in #Germany :d

This thread seems to be going in a couple of directions. But I will add that my GS4 is awesome. I have some features that BB does not offer, call blocking and immediate diversion to voicemail per contact for 1. I also have other apps that I use to forward SMS to my email for archiving so never need to keep a million text files on my phone for fun. I can basically do everything with my phone that I could do with my Z10. Is it secure, heck no, but I don't really think anyone would waste their time trying to get into my gmail account to read all my forum notifications.

We all know that each person uses their phones in a particular manner and has different needs, I moved away from secure once in a moon software updates, to a relatively insecure with nightly builds of software.

One thing I cannot do though is use NFC to pay at Timmies though, pees me off.
