Today I got the latest Hotfix for my Z30 (10.3.1.1767).
But with the change from OS 10.2.1 the the system performance significantly dropped!
Not in terms of app performance - once an app is running (even android ) everything runs really smooth and fast.
    But!
Too many actions take too long from the click to the reaction! Open the picture or the music app - at least 3 to 5 second.
From clicking on the back call list to the call - up to 3 sec!!! And this is the basic task of a phone!
The touch screen is very responsive but the Z30 pauses too long after clicking!
I really like the new features but I think the OS from BlackBerry has a design issue.
Or BlackBerry needs to switch to faster hardware but the newer devices got even worse hardware.
I must confess I'm somewhat disappointed!

So far I think many of the original issues from software release 10.3.1.1581 have been fixed with 10.3.1.1767. I do have to agree with you though that upon opening applications, the lag is definitely noticeable. Besides that, I'm loving everything about 10.3.1 vs 10.2.1, a ton of feature upgrades!

Give it another day, mine was super sluggish on day one, but next day after fully charge and overnight settling period and 2-3 volume up+down resets everything is smooth (performance wise) and at least twice as fast as 10.2.1 but there is call answer lag, sadly.

I'll have to disagree and say the phone app is not the primary use of a smart phone any longer. I would say that messaging apps and email ranks higher especially for BlackBerry smart phones.

That's a strange approach, phone is still extremely important for people who do their job on the run and need to be reached.

Noticing lag in a third of my apps and definitely not impressed with lag when trying to make calls.

Can someone comment on the speed of the BlackBerry Passport - same slow behaviour or is it much faster due to faster processor?

Yeah it is noticeably slower on my z10 at least, ad mentioned Apps like Music and pictures take an age to open, the browser now crashes a lot(tabs refuse the close and it all freezes up)

After 2-3 Days the whole phone starts to jutter, sliding between Home screen pages lags and jumps about, infact as I type this, I checked my Hub and it froze on me.

You clearly have issue on your phone and it sounds like you need to wipe it clean.

The fact I'd even need to do that is unacceptable, every update I had before that was fine but 10.3.1 messed it up big time

I just measured opening times :
    music app 10sec
    Picture app 8 seconds
(I have thousands of files on sdcard, but on OS 10.2.1 both apps opened instantaneously )
Those apps are only the most obvious slow down, almost all apps open significantly slower on 10.3.1.
Will a complete whipe of the Z30 solve the problem?
Once again, how about the speed of the Passport?

    Just an other comment:
I needed to put a direct link to my camera folder on my screen, otherwise it took much to long to wait for the picture app to review the latest photos made with the phone.

10 seconds for the music App? ouch, you might want to give it a wipe, not even my z10 takes that long

I got you beat. Try opening a task in the " remember" app. It takes 35 seconds to open.

Opening the app is instantaneous, but any task, such as a grocery list that is just text, takes 35 seconds. Every task is the same thing. So I don't think it's a matter of re-entering the task. A new task will do the same thing once the app is closed and reopened So long as the app is not closed the tasks will open more quickly, but that's not a solution.

    Any ideas?
