Default Been Charging My Z30 with Playbook Charger.... Any Problem with That?

My Z30 charges very quickly with the charger for my Playbook (full charge from nil in about 2 hours) is their any danger in doing this? If not, I will get a couple more of these chargers for the office and house.... It is night and day over the charger that came with the Z30.... Please advise... Thanks....

Been charging my Z10 with my PlayBook charger for 14 months... no issue that I have seen.

But of course you should always use the correct charger that is rated for your device at all time....

I've been using for all my BB's since I got he Playbook and it's charger on day one of the Playbooks release. As you pointed out it is a nice fast charger, so enjoy.

Me, too charging my Z30 with my PlayBook charger from day one. In fact I read somewhere here in CrackBerry that the playbook charger is superior and good for bb10 phones.

I always thought that the PlayBook charger charges the Z30 faster (and therefore hotter) than the Z30 charger so it would result in diminished battery life over the lifetime of the phone. I could be wrong though.

Source... I go through BlackBerrys so quickly - I will, probably, be onto the next one - Passport anyone? - before I use up my Z30 battery... The Playbook charger is so much faster - and friggin cheap on Amazon - I am thinking about getting a few more for around the house and office...

    thanks for the reply....

    I'm with you. In 15 months, I have had 4 Z10's and am on my 3rd Z30.

I just received a new PlayBook charger from Amazon 2 days ago. I now have 3 in the house.

Ahh, I see. I usually change phones every three years (or two years now that the new laws are in place) so it would probably benefit me to use the charger the phone came with. I do use the PlayBook one in emergencies because of speed.

I use a PlayBook charger frequently without issue. I've had my Z10 for 18 months and it seems to handle powerful chargers with ease. No decrease in battery life either so fill your boots.

The PlayBook charger is so good it should be sought out even if you don't have a PlayBook. It's not just that it charges to full in a short time, it's that when you have that moment where you only have a half hour window to put some juice into it, it buys you an awful lot of usage time.

Thanks...and not to mention the fact that if you torch the Z10 battery - you can get those inexpensively and easily in Amazon as well.

I've always used the PlayBook charger to charge my BlackBerry's since I've had it until it crapped out from using it so much, I suppose. But I find the charger that came with my Z30 charges pretty quickly. It came with a larger oval shaped "base" that plugs into the wall with a shorter, but thicker USB cord. My came from Verizon in the US.

I bought the first batch of pb that came out, and they had the first rapid charger. And then a later batch with a different rapid charger. The later had a yellow usb plug, whilst the former the charger was slightly conically shaped.

And I've fried my z10 twice. But not on OS 10.2. So my guess is that BlackBerry figured it out after 2.1

I had been using the Playbook charger to charge my BB9780, Samsung S3, Samsung Note3, BB Z10 and of course the Playbook itself with no problem.

However using the same to charge my Huawei Tablet burned the tablets screen.. it creates a dark area near where the battery lies, apparently due to overheating during charging. The tablet still usable though.

So i suggest do a few test first, and keep on checking the device from overheating

There shouldn't be a problem, technically, but when I used the PlayBook charger on any of my BlackBerry 10 devices, they all popped up an error message suggesting I use the proper charger that came with my device. Sometimes, my Q10 battery charger bundle also causes my Q10 to return the same error message. Weird. Oh well.

The rapid charger doesn't have yellow in it. I think they are not the original playbook chargers but perhaps knock offs. Anyways, I have 5 all black rapid chargers and use them for all the smartphones in my house. 1 S4 and. 4 BlackBerry's, plus 2 playbooks

The phone manages the chrging and could ignore or limit the charger.

This charger is loved by many devices.

In my home has charged 9800, 9900, Z10, battery bundle, kindle, BT headphone, BT speakers.

Absolutely can't use underpowered chargers on PB

I use a legit Samsung 10W (5V - 2A) Charger (almost the same rating as the PB Charger) with an attached Nokia CA-179 Micro-USB Cable to charge my Q10, Z30 and my Q10's Battery Bundle.

Yes no issues despite that Franken-charger haha.

Follow up to my original post..... Using a rather unscientific study - my Playbook charger charges my Z30 at the rate of almost 1% per minute - which means that you could have a complete charge in under 2 hours...

That is FAST compared with the regular Z30 charger.....
