Hello I am a new member to this site and have already learned much about my new BlackBerry Z30, however I have a problem with BBM using up to 49% of resources(?) my phone gets very hot and when I look on the device monitor It has BBM at the top with 49%. my battery drains to almost zero in about ten minutes. Can anyone help me?

This is a known issue. Try a hard reset.
Also, you can do a search in here for others that have had this issue.

My Z30 has never shown this issue. Stock/Official OS?

I have done a reset (holding down the volume up and volume down buttons for at least 5 seconds) my operating system is 10.2.1.3062 and I am with Rogers in Canada. I will try searching the forum.

You have to hold down for at least 10 seconds. I would also recommend installing BBVE and run that to pinpoint the exact cause of issues. Mine (bbm) tripped out once or twice and a hard reset always fixed the issue.

This happened to me one time. I just switched off the Wifi and LTE, restarted the device normally, kept it disconnected from Internet for awhile. The problem has been then resolved. I got Z30 three month ago. Never happened again.

Thanks everyone for the replies, my son did a factory reboot, and all seems good, however BBM did spike up to 22% with a little drop in battery %.Now if only the NHL Game centre would work
