    Just try post #50

Don't wait days on the Damn thing, it might never finish. Or use an autoloader

You can keep waiting and find out or try some of the suggestions in here.

Myself I don't have the patience to wait days let alone 1 day.

Restart it by holding both volume buttons. If that doesn't restart it. Open link, click on preferences.

    Attachment 370020

    Click on reload device software

    Attachment 370019
99 % can still +66 hours in some case
Wayyyyyy tooooooo looooooong. I'm not sure why it worked for me but I plugged my phone into my lappy, opened link, did the above and my phone rebooted and I unplugged it from the lappy and it started the wipe again but finished in less than 10 minutes.

Sorry to be a pain, have tried your advise, but not able to re-boot by volumn up and down key, and only can use the power(hold) button to re-boot it. It seems that BB Link are not able to recognise it. Is that because I am using a Mac?

    You can try

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black (ignore the screenshot), keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have a Z10: If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

    Hi,

I had an issue with my password not working yesterday and it started the wipe at 11am, its now 9am the next day and its on 98% It has taken a very very long time.
Throught this whole ordeal I do have some feedback for bb regarding password entry, particularty that the switch from the numeric to usual keyboard at try 5- I was unable to go by muscle memory and I just froze/panicked and could not get my password to work, although I am sure i had entered in the right one. Ah well, whats done is done.

No. Still stuck on 98% 4 hours later (total now 25 hours without phone)

I just noticed The above post to plug into laptop and it will start the process again but quicker (hopefully) I wont be home from work for a few hours yet so wont wont be able to test it out until then.

EDIT- i set link up on the work computer but it does not recognise my phone being plugged in, in fact I dont think the computer does. I have tried multiple usb slots, which i have used in the past to charge this same phone. I did hold the power button on top of the phone as prompted by link (even though not connected) and it seems to be running the wipe more quickly although waiting for it to finishe now, its now at 42%. Had not done so before as worried about bricking the phone as other have mentioned.
So i guess, the solution is to restart the phone.

I have experienced using BlackBerry Link wipe factory reset and 19 hours progressing wipe. If found the security wiping more than 45 minutes . Hard reset, hit power button for 2-3 second and release, the wiping will progressing again. This re-wiping will finishing by 30-40 minutes.

Truth be told, I was abusing my Passport installing every app under the sun including some beta ones. Eventually, all of that bloat was making me and my Passport sick. I was going to hold out for 10.3.3, but I figured enough was enough. I did a security wipe...the first ever on this device and it's probably been awhile since I did one at all even when I had my Q10. BlackBerry is rock solid. (Come to think of it...maybe one of those Android apps could have been a culprit to the hiccups I had).

In any case, did the security wipe and more than 24 hours later still on 98%! Glad I found this thread. I did the reboot, by just holding down the volume keys. This second wipe that automatically started is whizzing through. I haven't done link or anything and at about half an hour I am already at 72%! Hoping to get to my Welcome screen in hopefully another half hour or less. Just wanted to confirm what everyone else have been saying and kind of bump the thread as it had great info! ☺ Thanks to all!

I don't know if the solution for this problem is above, but if you come across this problem just restart the mobile. Whenever I do a security wipe I immediately make a reboot so that it completes in less than 30 minutes. And that won't cause any problem...
