Since the latest OS software update I've been suffering random battery drain on my Z30.. Every now and again the battery heats up and drains. I've included a picture as an example (where I lost 50% in about 3hrs with very minimal usage)

    Z30STA100-2/10.2.1.3175

Anyone else suffering random battery drain?-img_20140530_113330.png

When did you do the update?
The OS might be settling in. You will need to give it some days.

You can try switching off for a couple of hours. Did that once before and it worked for me.

Mine does this as well, it nukes the battery completely in about 3 - 4 hours. Getting freezes and lock outs as well. Several reboots later and even a data wipe and no different, only restored pics vids and contacts. Even left it off over night. It's been 4 days since the OTA upgrade came in

Had the same problem myself. A couple of reboots sorted it. In my case BBM Was using about 35% of the battery. Got to be a software issue.

    Using an awesome Z30.

Same happened with mine on the previous update, and a wipe was the only thing that cured it. Each software update has caused issues, despite not being interupted and done on high speed wifi. Won't be doing this update in a hurry.

How does one do a 'wipe'? I'm trying not to delete all of my settings and files but I'm having the same battery drain issues that others seems to be having after the update.

The long battery-life was one of the main reasons I went with the Z30

Remove the sim card and sd card, go into settings, security and do the wipe there. If you have a PC connect to Blackberry Link first and back up everything on the phone. After the wipe connect to Link again and restore everything to the phone. But it might pay to wait a few days to see if it settles first.

Hi The-Elf, i had same Bbm problem, it turned out one of my contacts had a constantly changing animated profile picture. Once I deleted the contact problem solved.

That I don't think is a good solution. If you had to delete a contact to solve a problem, that problem ain't solved.
What if all your contacts decide to use constantly changing animated profile photos?
