    899AED for a Z3 is above the price in Indonesia and above what BlackBerry said they would do (below 200$). The competition is better priced here...

    not sure if you mean me. But the mass of this market is very price sensitive. The Nokia 1010 is the most sold phone in the UAE. I think that shows how price sensitive people are here. THe most people are not rich here and buy every new phone coming out. There are plenty of laborers who earn less than 300$ per month. And this price makes a difference.
    Nokia is a top selling phone here specially the low budget ones. So this is competition for the Z3.
    The telcom operators do not let you use a blackberry without blackberry data plan. And these are not anymore the cheapest data plans to get. What works everywhere else in the world that you can use a normal datavpackage with a bb10 device does not work here....

    because the telecom operators here (etisalat and du ) do not let you. They would lose money. As well they do not give you bbm voice...

    You can't just say you have a different phone and use the sim in the BB??

    you can use the sim, but they block the apn... so no connection for any blackberry service.

    Come on I got the z10 for 2100 AED. Price is good.
