I plug my Z3 into the main for overnight charging & remove it next day. Is this best practice for a non-removable battery ?

Yes that's probably the best way.

No, this can reduce the performance of the battery,
For best performance, charge your device intermittently, for some time.

The circuit cuts any extra charge from coming into the battery when fully charged. Yes, it is safe to charge overnight. Good practice? I've been doing it for years and I never needed a battery replacement.

I do overnight charging often and its alright. But if you are really keen to have a longer charging time then charging it old 9900 charger wont hurt. A slow trickle charge is best way to preserve battery and keep it going for long time rather than charge them with 2 amp fast & furious chargers. If you stuggle with basic ampere and charging concept please ignore my post, you are doing fine with Z3 stock charger.

I would never do that. I charge until it's full and then not longer than an hour more. This leads to charging times of 3 or 4 hours, maximum. In my opinion longer times are not good for the battery.

They are called "smart " phones for a reason... once the battery is full the circuit cuts off the extra charge. Its totally safe.

As long as the charger is warm it pumps a measurable current through the accu. When your device reports to be fully charged and the charger is not cold after half an hour you can be sure it's still charging and stressing the accu. Check this.

And as long as it's not kept on charge for weeks.
