    Running the FB native app does not require messenger. You could send messages from it.

    Not required, fb does have a native app in BlackBerry World... I have installed a long time back, it is working and I can post everything in it almost instantly... its a brilliant app.. I get all updates just by swiping down...
    Let me know how you find it...

    The BlackBerry fb app works good for notifications and uploading pics/status updates and messenger, but the news feed is broken so you miss almost all content thats posted to fb so you have to use the fb site or the android fb app to view the unbroken news feed
