I advised 2 friends to get the Z3 and they did. Then one of them started having battery issues, and said his battery life was worse than his Z10.
The other friend however is having amazing battery life. And both of them are on the same latest OS release, and same BBM release.
So I went to do a search on the problem on crackberry, and heard about a BBM bug, that drains the battery. So I tell my friend to send me a screen shot of his device monitor, and voila ...



His BBM consumed 82% of his battery in 48 Hrs....82%!
He has tried a security wipe, he has done all updates, and still this. Honestly, I'm pretty pissed. If someone has solution, I'll be willing to hear. Thank you.
P.s: the other friend doesn't have this BBM bug. His device monitor is near perfect.

Try a hard reset! You do this by holding down the volume up and down buttons while is phone is properly on! Keep holding till the blue BlackBerry logo pops up!
This will free up ram etc but won't lose data!
If it still doesn't work, tell him to load up a latest 10.3 leak and See if it works!you have to try many different versions of this operating system!

Tap on the BBM on the device monitor.
Look at mobile data usage. Does the graph peak high?
If it is, that means bbm is synching and it sync non stop.

When that happens, turn off data for a few minutes.
And turn it on again.
See if that works.
If it doesn't, and it's still synching, turn off data again but this time, reboot as well.

It's happened a half dozen times on my Z30. A reboot of the phone usually fixes it for a while. I haven't had it happen since the last BBM update.

I've never had this problem on my own device, ever.
But I've seen it happen on other devices after using glympse
Or if bbm settings > location is turned on

Not entirely sure if this could be but does your friend belong to a BBM group that has a lot of messages syncing every time.
