Apologies for the title. Point is - there's another awesome inbuilt feature that lets you zip and un-zip any file on your device. But is there a way to hide a file directly? Like you could do it on BBOS 7? You went to the file manager, selected a file, then to properties and then make that file hidden. I loved that feature. The feeling of being in control of your device. Anyone who has spotted how to get it done on BB10? TIA.

No, there is currently no native way to hide a file completely. You can bury it in sub-folders though.

I know I've seen several threads on 3rd party apps to do this. I haven't been interested, so I couldn't tell you if any apps for this are actually available or not.

Earlier today I was moving things around between my internal memory and sd. While I had both dir open on my laptop I noticed a folder in the device side that said "Secured Media" or something like that with a lock on it. I was in too much of a rush to actually play around with it but I'm curious if that's a lockable folder to store all our pics and videos that we don't want to appear? Anyone near a comp want to try this out??

Well yes, there's Protected Media folder. But that would be for BB Balance and Encrypted Media Card. No luck hiding files with that option.

Randomly tried to unzip a music file today and can't believed it worked. Love it. Now if only I knew where the unzip file saved or how I could save it - without having to unzip it each time.

Check properties of the file in the file manager.
