My SD card was working fine, but then it randomly stopped reading, and I would turn it on and off and the phone would read the SD card. But now it compleltey stopped working any fixes?

Two possible fixes. One is easy and free, the other requires physical repairs and isn't cheap.

Try a hard reset, or reloading the OS.

Have your hardware checked out by a repair store.

What were you doing, what app did you add, what OS do you have installed prior to having SD problems?

Does the SD card work in any other device? Can it be read?

You could try formatting it via the built in tool on the Z10.

    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black, keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

While we are on the subject, are there recommended SD cards, or ones to stay away from ?

If you have an adapter try connecting to your computer and see if it can be read. For PC Owners you could run a disk check and try to correct any errors on the card. What I have done in the past is connect it to my PC, copy all of the files to a dedicated folder, and then format the chip in my BlackBerry. Once formatted I then connect back to my PC and copy the files back via mass storage mode. That's corrected the issue for me in the past

You could also do a quick format on your PC of the card if it can be read and then place back in your phone and see if it recognizes it. Try and backup the data if your can read it.

While we're on this topic, is there a thread or list somewhere of 'safe' sd cards to use with the Z10? I'm looking at expanding my memory from the 2gb card I've had since my 8800.

Has anyone used the new SanDisk extreme?

Do sd cards with less memory than 64gb's have fewer issues? It seems to me most of the problems I've come across in the forums are with 64gb cards.
