Well whatever it is, its on the software side and it happened randomly in different sections of the globe, different carriers, different handsets, different operating systems and different downloads. Only constant thus far is that it happened around a specific date. Weird.

No single solution helped, except one where the unlocked android run time was installed in OS pre 10.2.1.xxx.

Weird indeed.
