How can you tell what variant of z10 you have? If there's another post for this please feel free to flag this for deletion & direct me to the right source. I couldn't find what I was looking for, therefore making another post.

Settings > About > Model Number

On the Box would be best to check this info. The device does show it in the settings > about. But seeing that there are 2 models of the STL100-3, the box will tell you for sure (i.e RFK121LW or RFF91LW). From your profile it says Tmobile, if this is your current carrier and you got your device from them, it would be the STL100-3 RFK121LW model.

And all that basically determines is whether it's lte capable or not correct?

Only the STL100-1 is the non-LTE variant of the Z10 (which has different CPU/GPU as well).

Knowing the different version will help you determine which carriers/regions your device can work with. Normally the STL100-3 is the North American version, the STL100-2 is the European version, UK etc and the STL100-4 is the VZW. STL100-1 is for non-lte markets, India, South Africa just to name a few...
