Please help:

I bought the unlocked Z10 during the $199 black Friday promo from the official Blackberry online store. I am now using it overseas in Asia with a local SIM card and it hasn't updated to 10.2. xxx (whatever current official version is).

I know that the US is still on 10.1.xxx but shouldn't it auto update to the latest and greatest official 10 OS in Asia?

It is all carrier dependant. If whatever carrier you're using push an update (say, 10.0) the device will check against that and inform if you the version found is higher (or be quiet if you have something better running already).

There are things you can do. You can get a SIM card from another carrier (usually UK, German and Philipines are good for this). Or you can use Sachesi to find an update. The latest version comes pre-set to find you 10.2.0.424 (10.2.0.1791).

Using sachesi to install an OS is easy (but a bit slow). The pro side is it won't wipe your device.

Why don't you connect it to BlackBerry Link without the sim and check for updates you can't get 10.2 because the carrier that you are using haven't push it
