Default Z10 Time Shift feature not so great.

I've noticed that whenever I would use the time shift feature that you cannot use the flash with it. I'm rather disappointed with this and I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done to improve that. I love it, but I don't get it...

It's taking multiple shots in rapid succession and a flash would not keep up with each shot, hence cant be used.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The flash would have to be on the whole time if the time shift feature were to capture several frames before and after the moment you actually hit the shutter. Otherwise the exposure would be totally off.

I was thinking that as well but what about those digital cameras that can take consecutive pictures with flash? It just sucks that you can only use the feature in bright settings and already the Z10 camera isn't helping in that area. You'd have to depend on good lighting

It makes sense if you think about it.

The flash is only going to fire when you actually take the photo. To use the timeshift feature, all you're doing is going back to a point in the few seconds before you took the photo, when the flash wasn't on.

Can you turn the light on and off manually?

    Nope, it's not gone well.

It's a cell phone with a camera built in. There are always going to be limitations sadly.
If it left the light on the whole time it would problems ruin the shot.
Makes sense to me that it doesn't do it. Getting a flash to sync with the shots would probably slow the frame rate down.

The issue of low light shots can be helped by using a focal point in the frame which is dark, which will cause the Z to compensate and low more light in.

Ha, I can just imagine having to find the perfect shot after that. Makes sense anyway now.

Digial cameras cannot take 6-7-8 shots quick using flash either, it would damage all of them... Also keep in mind that due to the small sensor used in mobile phones they all require much more light than other camera-only devices, so good light should always be used. But - it is still possible to make some pretty good shoots using the Z10

Get yourself a full-frame SLR camera and you can get more done with less light, but you cannot seriously expect photographer quality photos in dark rooms using a phone?
