So since the wifey is off to a work getaway today, I decided to chill out at the breezy park nearby. Unplugged my z10 at approx 11.45 today, and it died at 15.45. That's 4 hours runtime.
-continuous wifi surfing
-texting
-two short phonecalls
-Skype running in the background in case of messages
-gtalk running in the background
-screen really on max brightness. I'm outdoors so even the GLO algorithm would have kept it on max
Phone running much hotter than my Q5. Rather uncomfortable to hold as the ambient temperature at the moment is 32*c
I am getting 4 hours when running satnav software. Tested be on road, route66, navfree, waze, wyse and mireo. All max 4 hours and phone getting hot as well.
More like addicted to the Internet lol. But seriously trying to get some research done for a project. Didn't want to bring my laptop and it's easier to wander about this peaceful park with a device that fits in your hand instead of my ipad. This is one of the reasons I prefer bb10 over iOS/android/windows phone. Best browsing experience.
It seems I'm old fashioned as I use my phone Z10 as a phone for the most part. I check email first thing in the morning and Facebook periodically throughout the day. When I first bought this phone I had issues with the battery but now fail to drain the battery! It seems I went through a stage of checking fb & twitter every ten minutes but decided I needed my life back. Can't wait for the BlackBerry Classic and or a slider to come out.
All navigating software uses a lot of battery. Even on Garmin units.

My Nokia with s40 lasted 12 hours with gps navigation, with Nokia (offline) maps. Someone tested with bb maps and that uses 1watt power were the others use 3 watt. But bb maps isn't offline navigation.
