Looking to purchase a new cell phone, currently have an iphone4. My new phone will be used for web surfing, music, maps (I'm a cyclist) and photo-video recording. My reason for leaving apple is the price of their phones, and I don't mind giving an underdog a shot!

I've done some research and it seems that the Z10 is more than capable in the web browsing, music, and photo department. My main concerns is maps, I read in one review that this is a weak point.

Are there quality map apps on the Z10? Are there any maps that aid runners such as the nike+iPod app Apple has?

I'm on tmobile. Recently found out about the promotion they had for blackberrys, called in to a local store and was told it ended yesterday :-(

The Z10 is a great device and quite sure you would love it, but for a better experience you should think also of the Z30, I have owned both and think the extra screen size of the 30 is pretty nice.
There are some good map apps available, I don't use them as much as yourself probably but I have no issue.

You will be fine with a Z10 but the Z30 is superior but too big for some.

Screensize is not a big issue for me. I already own an ipad, and I'm coming from a 3.5 inch screen. Also, a smaller phone is preferable when you're out exercising. I wouldn't rule out a Z30 though. Other than screen size what makes it a superior phone?

It's faster runs smoother and it's also weighted quite good.

Quad-core gpu, more advanced cpu with higher clock speed. Much better battery life, much better speakers and mics, much better network reception, etc,etc

You are more guaranteed a smooth android experience with a Z30. While Z10 android apps can lag depending on what it is. But native apps are smoother by far.

Not officially. You can install android apps easily on the latest software outside the BlackBerry app store. Safest app to do so would be Snap (third party BB10 native app)which is a Google play client

Although they could be supported officially of they simply posted their apps on BBW.(android apps that work with 4.2.2 rarely need modification) But as always that's what's BlackBerry deals with daily with carriers, devs, etc.

To weight in, Z30 augments almost everything on the Z10, but only by a bit. The CPU is 1.7G vs 1.5G (slightly faster), the GPU is an adreno 320 vs 225 (faster). Same RAM, Bigger screen, lower resolution (1280x720 vs 1280x768), darker (Z10 screen is much brighter) - AMOLED vs IPS. Z30 is physically larger, with a bigger battery (which lasts longer). Z30 has USB OTG, miracast, FM radio.

All in all, pretty much everything is upgraded - except the screen. It is different, but not necessarily better in all things. You can use the Z10 one handed with small hands - you can't (at least I can't) use the Z30 completely one handed. I might be in the minority, but my Z10 easily lasts 24 hours, and as I charge at home, the Z30 wouldn't offer much in battery. It can't make 48 hours, so I would still charge every night.

Biggest difference is cost. I just did a (quick) look up, and Z30 is selling today for $570, and the Z10 is $370 (Mobile Phones | New, Unlocked, Cheap | MobiCity Australia) . Thats 54% more for the Z30. The Z30 is not 54% (except battery capacity which is 55% ) better than the Z10, so value for money, the Z10 wins. As for real world performance, unless you put them side by side, you won't be able to tell that the Z30 is faster. They are both silky smooth.

    Bottom line:
if you want value for money, Z10.
If you want a one handed, lighter, smaller phone, Z10
If you want the fastest possible bb10, Z30.
    If you don't care about size/weight, Z30.
If you want to listen to FM, use miracast or connect a USB drive, Z30

PS. I haven't considered battery life as mine is more than adequate (>24 hours), however some people here have terrible problems with battery life. The Z10 battery can be replaced, unlike the Z30, so for just a few dollars, you can easily trump the Z30 in battery life.

No I'd argue the battery life on the Z30 to be more than twice as good. Much more than 50 %

Some say the Z30 is not as good in bright sunlight which might not be good if used for cycling. But gps use can deplete batteries faster so there, the z30 might be better with its bigger battery. But you can swap batteries on the z10 and not the z30.
