Could some of you who use Z10 please comment on how satisfied you are with the ringer volume for incoming phone calls and texts. I own one that I'm thinking of giving to my wife to use. However I haven't used it in a year or so myself as I switched to a Z30. One of the reasons I switched was due to the low ringer volume on the Z10. The one on the Z30 is significantly louder. On the Z10 I went into notification settings and turned it up as high as it would go but still isn't loud enough. I have been told that through the various updates including 10.3.1 the ringer volume has improved. So can someone please verify whether this is true or not. If you think it has improved would you say that it is as loud as the Z30 now? I had posted this question in an earlier post but didn't really get specific replies back

My seems to be "loud" at full volume.

I downloaded the ring tones from older blackberry devices. I think there's a thread in here somewhere, where you download older BlackBerry ring tones. My ears are used to the classic ring tones, so even at mid level, I'd still recognize it ringing.

Please use a more descriptive and useful Subject line next time. "Ringer volume okay of not?" would have been better.

The volume in general was noticeably lower when I updated from 10.2.1 to 10.3.0, and didn't get better until 10.3.1.2258. It's still not as loud as 10.2.1, but close enough for me.

I use a metal (actually scream-o) song for my ring tone. I'm on 10.2.1 and it is very loud. I have to keep it dialed down a bit, actually.

It's loud enough. Loud enough at times that I'm caught off guard by the volume outputted.

Some of you have mentioned specific ringtones enable you to hear the ringer no problem. Could you be specific about which ones and where you got them?

I set my tones to very loud songs so I generally notice the ringing right away.

The ringtone I use is 'Clean'. It came stock out of the box in 10.3.1.2558

It's the same. I too has that problem with ringer sound but I am adjusting it with it. The sound haven't improved over the previous versions instead more worse. There are some bugs in the latest OS and BlackBerry would probably fix it in the near future.

If you can't find tunes that are loud enough you could create them yourself by using an mp3 editor like Audacity to increase the volume. Not a bad option unless you want to alter a whole bunch of tunes.

I didn't alter the song, just loaded as my ring tone. But a friend did alter a "System of a Down" song so it screams "Where the f??k are you!? Where the f??k are you!?" Awesome -- and LOUD.

So, when you go in to notifications and turn 'over ride profile volume' to "on" and turn the volume all the way up, you still find it is to low?

Yup. In outside but not in the room. While in the room it is loud and clear.

It's plenty loud. Just make sure the ringer volume is turned up and you are golden.

Is the override profile volume option part of an update - maybe 10.3.1 cause I just looked at a brand new out of the box Z10 and that option is not in the notification settings
