Just to confirm data service is still working, just the LTE is the one not functioning?

Yup data service is working fine, only lte is not working, but since I am out now I will be able to check only after I go back. But the problem is that I am not even receiving the option to select lte in the menu.

Anyways, another small question.
I bought an unlocked phone from the gray market, and I don't know whether the phone is factory unlocked or has been unlocked later on by entering the unlock code. So a little doubt is there in my mind that if I update or security wipe the phone will revert back to its locked status. So is there any way to check in the device the unlock code which has been entered to unlock it. And before that whether the device is factory unlocked or unlocked using a code.
