I would take the 5s over the 5 simply with the addition of touch ID. Cost wise the 5s is about 100-120 more than the z10 and you get better battery and all the apps. I would also look at a z30 over the z10 since the cost is a little more but the device has much better battery life and better internals.

uh,think twice about that if mobile check deposits are important,I know for a fact 10.2 something does not do it and there isn't a single bank in the US that allows Blackberry to deposit a check via mobile deposit.maybe it will work with the 10.3 version so I hear.

FYI, contrary to the opinion of those who live south of the 49 in the western hemisphere, the USA is not the center of the universe.

Cheque deposit is vary much available to BlackBerry devices. Do NOT blame BlackBerry for (insert your lazy-azz bank) for not developing an app.

Tangerine (formally know as ING Direct) is global (even them Amuricans can use it). They not only support BlackBerry with a well made app, they do cheque deposit via picture.
(no fees, AND they pay interest)

I use an iPhone 5 for work and had a Z10 (recently upgraded to a Passport). IMO, the Z10 keyboard is much much better than the iPhone. The predictive text is much better, and the flicking of words is an amazing time saver. I also don't understand how people put up with the way you have to switch between iPhone apps or check your messages. The Z10 just flows and the hub is amazing.

    Just my two cents.

Hogwash. I have a Classic and Z10 that I routinely use to deposit checks to an American bank. Been doing it for quite a while via an Android app. How would the bank even know (or care) it comes from a BlackBerry? As long as it uses their app and they see the picture of the check....they're happy.

Both my sister and mother upgraded from the iPhone 5S to the Z10 and are now using the Z30 and Passport. Of course, this would have never happened if it wasn't for me as, like most Americans, they didn't know anything about BB10 until trying. They both liked the Z10 over the iPhone 5S.

My sister really only uses instagram and prefers igrann and as for apps almost all of my mother's were on Amazon. Did put Snap on her Passport and she has 2 out of about 10 of her Android apps from there as they aren't on Amazon. Overall, they really liked BlackBerry 10 and both decided to stay with BlackBerry after moving on from the Z10. I think that says it all with both coming from iPhones.

It was a pain in the *** to get them out of Apple's ecosystem and imessage nonsense. This really turned them off after using iPhone after iPhone just waiting for the next one. At this point, if BlackBerry doesn't have a decent device for them to upgrade to they'd both likely go Android now.

I have been using my Z10 to deposit checks to both Chase and my local bank since at least 10.2.1 (probably side loaded before that, but I can't remember for sure).

What? The regular ip5 has terrible battery life, smaller AND less ppi screen, non removable battery and most BlackBerry users prefer BlackBerry 10 over iOS.

Unless you LOVE the ecosystem or desperately need some iPhone app, I think the case is easily made.

Really.......I have three eyefones in my family and I wouldn't take any over a Z10. If you are looking for a business phone the Z10 is a no brainer. But as mentioned previously, take a long hard look at the Z30. It's MUCH less than the eyefones and a no brainer as well. Kinda like the comment I quoted. No brains.

BB10 isn't available on an iThing.

Why Z10 instead of Z30? and why iPhone 5 instead of 5S?

The iPhone 5 came out mid to late 2012 and the Z10 early in 2013... I don't know where you're buying from or the prices you're looking at, but the price difference between the Z10 on Amazon and Z30 from ShopBlackBerry is not substantial. The Z30 is a no-brainer over the Z10, in my opinion.

    Wouldn't recommend a Z10 over an iPhone5 ...ever. Lol.

Like the others have said, if you want to go for BlackBerry in this scenario, you go for the Z30.

    But hey... opinions.

The one, absolute reason to reject a Z10 over any iPhone is the battery life if you are away from any power source for even 4 hours of heavy use.

Other than that, there is no iPhone, including the 6 and 6 plus, for which I would trade my Z10 as a daily driver for one simple reason: it would cost me too much money in lost productivity.

Like many modern knowledge workers, my ability to think and express my thoughts is what makes me valuable. As I work for myself, my ability to do that as quickly as possible, in near real time with my clients, is what ensures my income.

I once did a back-of-the-envelope calculation that switching to iOS could cost me between $5,000 and $35,000 a year in time and missed opportunities. Android would be better, but neither would make me more successful.

If I was looking for entertainment, music, games, social, etc., I might make a different decision, but my phone is for "for food, not for fun," and BB10 is a no-brainer.
