    Hello,
I was wondering if there is a anyway to downgrade from the leaked 10.1 os to the original 10.0 os. I loaded the leak and some of my apps that I like (ie: Say It) do not work so I was thinking to downgrade the os?

Yes, you can connect it to BlackBerry Link and choose restore to factory image instead of restoring a backup

Plug the phone into BB Link and use the restore function.

Are you just assuming, or have you really tried?

I had to use an older 10.0.10.648 autoloader first, then I could upgrade again to 10.0.10.116 ....

BB Link did did say it could restore to factory etc... but it did not get rid of 10.1 ...

same happened here, it kept the 10.1. I'm going to try your autoloader suggestion next.

Normal behavior. As soon as you upgrade it will always factory reset to that version. Factory reset does not really mean you get previous firmwares on the phone it just resets the version that you currently have installed. All systems do this as far as I know.

The phone can't keep different firmware versions simultaneously on it. It's only logical.

Do this. Use any autoloader, then half way through loading click control+c. It'll brick your phone temporarily. Then hook it up to link, it'll say it can't connect and you just click the reload button in link. It'll download your carrier's latest software and flash your phone with it.

Um...its easy, plug your phone without the battery into the computer with BlackBerry Link already open then put in the battery
On the BlackBerry Link phone tab while the phone is booting there is a link that says reload software. It downloads the newest official release for your carrier and then installs it on your handset. I have done this twice to go from 10.1 back to 10.0 without bricking or using an autoloader. One word of caution, if you do a backup with 10.1 it can't be restored to your downgraded device due to system incompatibility.

The problem is that you can't use a backup that was done on a newer version to restore. I had to move back up when I realized that.

Yeah, that's what I just said. This isn't too big of a hassle though if you are using exchange active sync and have access to wifi. My phone was practically restored in about 10 minutes

It should be clear that a backup before the upgrade is needed. Once you downgrade to the version before the upgrade - you'll be able to use that backup.

I tried to downgrade from .1627 to .1483 when I tried to restore my backup after I downgraded, I was getting an error that the backup is not compatible with my device. I then went back to .1627 and was able to restore with the backup (so obviously the backup was good)

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I am thinking it could be that my backup is from a leak of the .1627 that is meant for -2/3 and the .1483 is -4 so possibly that could be the conflict, but I think that the first leak I installed was the 10.9.422 (I think) and this leak was a -2/3 and I was able to use my backup from my stock -4 firmware then

Sorry, I misread the quote I quoted. I thought he was saying a backup would work.

Thanks, at least now I know what the issue was.

I was wondering what's gonna be when a newer leak or update comes out, but it seems that it should work without an issue

While your phone is still connected via usb to your desktop take out the phones battery then put it back in. You have less than 2 seconds to click the reload software button when the red led is lit on the phone before it begins booting.

@adam I read through that link but neither option would work for me. Via link if I got the software to reload via settings it would only reload the leak. As for the reload software button it is bored in link 1.0.1.33. The software download from the website via Internet explorer the message gets displayed that I have the current version of software.

All that said soft bricking the phone, while scary sounding, actually worked very well and link restored my factory image.

I tried to thank everyone that helped with this. If however I missed you know that I appreciate the community support! Love my Z10 and my CrackBerry!

I was in same situation and in additional the reload button in Link didn't work. It just did nothing when I pressed the button.
This procedure did work for me and I was able to go back to 10.0.90

(I did the "harder way" process)
