Z10 demo at a party
It was passed around and everyone seemed thoroughly impressed with it. Most were iphone users, and many were past BB users. Suprisingly 2 other people there had Z10's. It seems to be catching on. Heins was right about needing people to just try them out. Its much more effective than advertising.
Some of the comments were
"the screen size is perfect"
"i really like the back of it"
"looks too much like an iphone but thats ok"
"the screen is so sharp!"
"the browser is very fast"
"my note is bigger so its better"

I get that too--ALL THE TIME.
However, if you want to truly impress iPhone users, show them what true multitasking looks like with Active Frames. I did this once with a friend, who promptly replies, "Well my new iPhone 5 just added that! Let me show you! [She proceeds to hold down the 'Home' button for an eternity, then proceeded to scroll through the "open" apps.] After all the bashing I've received over the years from this particular person, I couldn't resist saying, "Wow! THAT was slow." - 02-24-2013, 05:05 PM #8

Just went to Best Buy to look at cases for my Z. The person (early to mid 20s) who directed me to the display just bought one 2 days ago and was very much impressed by it and very happy to show it to me. I consider that to be a good sign.

I think the home press in Iphone and android is not multitasking, it just opens a list of recent apps. When u click an app from that list it will open that app, but pretty slow as it is opening an app from complete shutoff state. BlackBerry Z10 is a true multitasking phone, actually the only multitasking phone. And it is by far the best phone I have used.

re: Z10 demo at a party
For Android that's only partly true. Apps are normally suspended, as on BB10, simply to save battery and not waste precious CPU cycles, thus you normally return to the same state when returning to an app.
However, there's two scenarios where you don't:
1. The app itself decides against it.
2. The app has been stopped by the OS, like when you open the ninth app on BB, the "oldest" one gets kicked.
On Android, the number of suspended apps is not fixed (though there is an option to do so), thus it's not as obvious which apps are still conserving their state and which have stopped completely. If they get stopped, they do get the opportunity to preserve their state and return there once restarted, but most apps don't, as it is often confusing your app doesn't always open with the same initial view.
I don't know about current iOS, but initially it was exactly as you described. That was called a feature...

People who notice mine like it. I haven't seen a single person who has one though. A Lot of that is living in a world of 3 year contracts though.

Dunno about all of you...but when I do a party, I'm not pulling my Z out. I go to party! Screw my phone.
