Sometimes when I plug in my Z10 into my laptop, I will get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on Windows 8 with DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION. I can plug anything else into my laptop and they work fine, but not my Z10.

    Uhhhh....

Yes, I get the same. I actually didn't make the connection until someone in a BBM Group mentioned it to me few weeks ago.

And if we don't want Mass Storage Mode enabled, I guess we're just SOL...?

Really hard to see it's Windows 8 and not my phone. It's Windows 8 + my phone.
Was it the dynamite's fault it blew up, or my lighter's? You can ponder that, but wouldn't have had an explosion just then if they weren't together.

I don't understand the hate for Windows 8. Use http://startisback.com and it's perfect. Instant on and blazin' fast on my SSD.

    Link is just crap lol.

Convince someone to make a Macbook Pro with integrated numeric keyboard and I'd try one.

If you have this issue, it's your computer........sorry. I have windows 7 and 8 and have never had this issue. Link works better than Samsung's sync software. I would advise making sure your system is up to date. Bios, windows....etc. if your system is barely running windows 8 that could also be part of the problem.

Can't speak for all, but I have a brand new Sony laptop with Win8 out of the box, 8GB RAM, SSD so everything else is fast, i7 3rd gen proc, and generally kept up to date.

Member that pointed this out to me also has a brand new Win8 PC.

Use a different USB port. There was another thread on this explaining it. Something about the difference in 2.0 and 3.0 ports. This happens to me too but only with one of my USB ports.

I love Win8... don't really have any issues with it.

Didn't even have 3rd party start button installed. I just created shortcut to desktop on the task bar and it really acts like the classic start button.
