Tried converting someone from their android to a z10. They have all their contacts saved to the sim card so even if they switch devices the contacts come along. The Z10 initially read all the contacts fine but after creating a Blackberry ID and logging this person on to BBM it no longer saw them. Selecting sim card contacts was blank, trying. To copy them to the phone resulted in nothing. It is a 100-3 running 10.2...

Put the sim card back in the Droid and it saw them all.

In the contacts app, swipe down and select settings. At the bottom there is:
    SIM Card
    Import Contacts from SIM Card

It should also let you manage the contacts, see when it was last imported etc. But, one thing to mention - there are different contact groups. Having a contact import from the SIM card doesn't mean that the contact will be available through BBM - they need a BBID and to have the BBID connected on your phone for that to work.
