I have loaded Software 10.2.0.1761 and the battery worked fine, but all of the sudden it switches off the phone when you get to around 60% indicator on the screen.

Then you need to charge it for about 3 minutes before it turns on, when it does it shows 60% battery life
Whats funny is when you plug it in again then it charges so quickly as if it was on 60 %.

Please help I am not sure if it is software related or not.
I am using the STL100-1 device

Hi guy. My devide is same. It's terrible for my work. So I found how to fix error. Exactly your battery was shock cause charge too long time or work and charge in times. If your devide turn off, you will charge it until your screen appear. Wait 1 minute. Let's remove the back cover and battery. Your devide will notice the red LED. Wait the light off. Unplug charge and wait 1 minute. Insert your battery and back cover. Do it a few times.
Thats all. Wait for your comment.

Have you tried a hard reset?( hold volume up and down buttons till you see the blackberry logo) it is a software issue. We just need to find the fix.

I am unsure what worked the best but my gut feeling is that removing the battery @ around 70% and leaving it out for about 30 minutes when inserting it again it showed 30% and started charging from there.

Sure the memory build-up in the battery was removed by all of the steps but this final one seemed to work best

The best method to fix this is to keep your device plugged in and shut it off while still plugged in. Charge it until the LED turns green, this resets the charging cycle.
If you've restored your phone via LINK when moving up in leak releases there might be some corruption of the data. I've always started fresh from a leak, this way you can avoid some issues.
