My Z10 is working fine, really loving it. The battery life is good.

But I read a lot of uninformed comments about Lithium-ion batteries. Here is a quote from batteryuniversity.com:

"Similar to a mechanical device that wears out faster with heavy use, so also does the depth of discharge (DoD) determine the cycle count. The shorter the discharge (low DoD), the longer the battery will last. If at all possible, avoid full discharges and charge the battery more often between uses. Partial discharge on Li-ion is fine; there is no memory and the battery does not need periodic full discharge cycles to prolong life, other than to calibrate the fuel gauge on a smart battery once in a while."

Please don't allow your BB10 phones or Playbooks or anything else with Lithium-ion batteries to drain completely. That really reduces the battery life.

This is the bad information I was talking about. Every time you drain your Lithium-ion battery completely, even if you do it just once, reduces the life span of the battery.

If I read the battery university thing right, it says you do have to discharge completely 'once in awhile to calibrate the fuel gauge on a smart battery' or something like that. But frequently doing it would hurt its life.
