Is there a way to reset the address book and start over?
Mine has turned into a dogs breakfast trying to merge manually and using Contact X app, I just want a fresh start...

How did your Contacts get there in the first place?

Did you switch from a legacy BBOS device?
If so, you could experiment with using Link to restore your original device switch backup.

I'll poke around on my Z10 and see if I can spot any other options for you.

    Thanks elite.

I had so many duplicates from switching devices from my legacy BlackBerry. I think with adding fbook, LinkedIn and twitter into my contacts it got messy.

I tried the contact X app and that made it worst. Combining numbers in contacts that don't relate.

    Ok try one thing.

I was wondering if your SIM card might be responsible.

    Open Contacts app.
Swipe down from top and tap Settings.
Toggle SIM Card Contacts to Off, like this:

    Tap Back to save.
Swipe up to minimize, then hold down X to fully close. (Don't just tap it.)

If you open up Contacts again, are duplicates present?

This is how you CB10, son!

No it won't ....... but there is another way.

    -- Open Contacts
-- Peak at top and click "Settings"
-- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings Screen and click on "Manage SIM Card Contacts"
-- You will now be viewing all SIM card contacts ..... at the bottom of screen click "Select All"
-- At top right click "Delete"

This will delete all SIM card contacts.
If you have have contacts with multiple "Links", it will only delete the SIM card storage/"LINK" ... not the entire contact. (NOTE: I had a contact with 5 "Links" and did the above process. It only removed the SIM contact storage/Link and the contact remained .... only now with 4 "Links" and the SIM "Link" was removed.) At least that's how it worked for me.

    Hope this helps someone!!

    Hope this helps!!
