Default Z10 #2 in my hands!

So I just exchanged my launch day Z10 for another like model. I was getting pretty bad battery life and the phone would get really hot with moderate use.. I was trolling around the forums one day and I saw a thread that stated that people with bad battery life exchanged for a second unit and found much better battery life.. Seems a solid Z10 is a luck of the draw type situation.. Hopefully I get lucky with this one..

Anyone else grab a second Z10 due to battery life and saw an improvement??

I will report back after a full days usage on how I find my new(er) Z10!

I will be exchanging mine. This launch day one is giving me anxiety. The battery is a third of what everyone else claims it should be.

how are you using your Z10 do you often have the screen on and apps running minimized? minimized apps are said to use abotu 10% of the CPU so if the app is always doing something even when its minimized it'll slowly drain the battery, for instance a weatehr app will constantly be refreshing to update the weather or run whatever backround ads there are, same goes with the browser. i haven't been able to find a setting for the active frames where they go into a dormante state when minimized, it think such a thing is governed by the app itself unlike on the playbook there are settings for this

So. After my first full day with my second Z10 I am happy to say the battery life was awesome! After moderate use with LTE on all day, I made it a full 12 hours before I hit 15% and plugged her back in. No overheating either. I'm very happy! I followed some advise from the forums in that I charge at 10% and use the slow charger it came with not my PlayBook's rapid charger.

Definitely use the slow charger - ANY battery should be slow/trickle charged. Even car batteries come back to life and condition better when charged at 2amps rather than the standard 8. Batteries run on chemicals and the less heat you create in that chemical the less evaporation exists to lose the ability to hold a charge in those chemicals.

Glad to see #2 worked out for you... I got my phone on the 2nd day and they had just come into the telus store... I really am wondering if that first batch that people and reviewers were getting were bad.

Keep us updated over the next day or two and let us know if the battery life continues to improve.

Glad you got your Z10 sorted. Had mine nearly 2 weeks with no major issues. Battery going fine, get through most days without having to charge too much. Only gripe so far is with Maps. Tried navigation from a hotel in Birmingham to a customer about 6 miles away and the navigation froze after the first few miles. Good job I had my Garmin sat nav working too. Other than that no problems.
Whoosh.....!!!!!!!!!! Careful! Z10 in action here!
