No one can give you a reliable answer on 10.2. It's all speculation and rumor. When it comes I'm sure we will all enjoy it.

As for the leaks, I suggest you read the numerous threads on them. They are safe and many people have tried them. But unless you plan on doing some work and learning (lots of reading) then I would recommend you stick with the official releases. "Use at your own risk" doesn't imply lack of safety, it means prepare to get your hands dirty, expect the occasional bug and the possibility some apps won't work.

I have been using leaked 10.2. Currently on 10.2.0.1725. The biggest things with leaks are be prepared to lose something or everything. From what I can tell they are now stable. The issues I have is back-up and restore using link. For some reason things will hardly ever restore for me. So I have learned to put everything on my sd card but I still have to set everything up as if it was new again. If you really need your phone and dont want to lose any information then dont install a leak. Chances are you will lose something in the process.

Would I install 10.1.0.4181? If you are wanting to stick to the official route then yes I would. As for your text messages. You may lose them. I know in 10.2 you can copy the whole chat and paste it in a word doc or email and save it for reference at a later date if this is what you are concerned with. Im not sure if your current version has this option.

Go ahead and install 10.1.0.4181. It's working beautifully on my phone. I didn't lose any messages or data when I upgraded.

4181 is what I have and it's the current "official" release for the Z10 on Bell in Canada. Not sure about other models, carriers, countries.

You must be on Verizon or AT&T...

Here in Canada, our updates are sent out almost immediately after they are announced. I think BlackBerry has been doing a rather decent job of updating their OS since the original launch. The problem lies with their lack of communication prior to a launch.

Not sure, but I'm expecting summer of 2015.
