I purchased a simfree blackberry z10 about 5 days ago. When I turned on my z10 immediately it gave me the latest software update and MIND IT THERE WAS NO NETWORK logo on startup of the phone. I purchased a 3simcard and inserted it in my phone..after 3 days the three logo appeared on the startup and closing of my device...I though my phone has got locked to three network. I did put another simcard in my phone and it worked perfectly fine..i did factory reset my phone and the logo was gone and when I again put my 3 sim the logo reappeared..i again reset my phone and put an orange simcard in it and no logo is appearing. My question is why only when I put the three simcard the logo appears on my z10?? Is it because the first sim I put in my device was of 3 or have I got a faulty device??? Please help me as people at 3 are of no help and the retailer has said it is a simfree device..i don't wana change BlackBerry as I love z10 but please give me advice about my device. Many Thanks.

I seems entirely possible to me that a sim could contain a boot logo image on it, yet I haven't encountered it myself. Whether it displayed or not would of course depend on a device's hardware.
Someone here might be able to help out with some hard facts hopefully.

Yeah, the carrier splash screen is associated with the OS itself, so once the sim card is inserted into the device, it matches the corresponding splash screen to the sim in use.

I have used three different carriers on my Z10 and each time the respective splash screen appears. Initially one carrier's splash screen did not appear until I got an OS update after which their logo started popping up!

It's the same with Vodafone, they have their logo on the sim too.

As already noted, the carrier splash screen is associated or tied to the inserted SIM card, not the phone itself. You can have a totally unlocked z10, that will have a splash screen once the SIM is inserted.

So it's not a "problem!!!!!!!", to quote your original post. Not even remotely.
