Can someone tell me how to either copy and paste a formula from one cell to another or drag it down which is easy in MS excel but does not appear to work in the BlackBerry version.

The versions on the Z10 are pretty anemic so don't expect too many functions to work. I have not tried recently but have you tried PRESS and hold on a field and does it let you select the field?

    XL in BB10 is horrible.

In 9810, its much much better. I miss it a lot while using excel on my Z10.

+1 ... all I use it for is updating a few existing fields while on the go. Can't even insert rows/columns. Saddest excuse of a "spreadsheet" app.

Damn, guys, how about answering this guy's question.

OK Pompeii Pete, here ya go. Contrary to all the naysayers above, the xl formula copy and paste function works just fine. Here's how you do it.

First, tap to select the cell that has the formula you want to copy. Then press and hold inside the formula box at the top of the screen. If it doesn't select the whole formula at first, use the little editing icon that pops up and looks like a cursor over top of a paragraph. That icon selects everything in the current text entry area; in this case, it's the cell formula box.

Next, tap on the cell where you want to paste the formula. Once again, press and hold inside the formula box and then tap on the paste icon that pops up.

That's it. I just tried it and it works perfectly. FYI: I'm on 10.2.1.2941.

Make sure you are in this view:XL in docs to go-img_20140602_121714.png
Long-pressing the relevant cell pops out a context menu:

Now select the range of cells you want to copy this formula to:

    Again long-press:

The relevant formula is applied to all cells In the way you would expect from Excel:

My thanks to Patrick and Mr Glen but despite their efforts I still cannot get the function to work. It's frustrating that such a simple task should be so awkward.
Every time I select a cell to copy to the formula disappears so nothing happens and I cannot find a way to stop this happening.

When I use this function, it isn't awkward at all. It's quite smooth actually.

Please post a video showing the problem... if we can see what you're doing, somebody here can probably figure out what is causing this problem for you. Also, what version of the OS are you on?

You can not autoresize columns/rows in D2G. But you can do it manually. Select the entire row/column and long-press it until your device vibrates. Then you can drag and resize the selection

Videoing what I am doing is a bit advanced for me. I am using latest 10os update.
I imported my ms spreadsheet from my pc so it is not created on the Z10. There must be a step missing as I am getting to paste but it does not do it. So weird. Thanks again

OK Petey, tell you what. I'll make a video and show you how I do it. Maybe from viewing that, you can deduce why it isn't working for you and how to fix that.

I get this simply trying to enter text into a blank cell. The sheet is not locked.
