Is it just me or does Word Substitution not work in SMS?

I tried it in email and it works perfectly, tried it in SMS and it does nothing. (I haven't checked what other apps it does/doesn't work in)

This is the same for both the default word substitutions (not auto-correction, that works) and for the ones I've set up myself.

I did try going into Hub>Settings>Text Messages>SMS>Enable Word Substitution and turning it off and then back on. This does't do anything. I've also tried rebooting my BB, no change.

So does it not work for anyone? Are there any fixes?

It does not work on my phone either. Substituted words work fine on bbm messages, but they don't work at all on texts for me either, grrrr.

O no I hope BBRY is making a list and fixing stuff before the US release... I keep trying to stay positive and understanding. Let us see if there is a simple fix.

In a text message if you type "br" (without the quotes) it changes it to "("? Very strange. Is your language set to English?

Hmmmmmmmm. This sucks. I love word sub! Such a great feature. Makes me type fast. Maybe I won't need it cuz of the keyboard on the z10

For this to work here is how you need to have your settings:

Go to settings >>> Language and Input >>> Automated Assistance >>>
here set auto complete to either modest or aggresive or off, your choice
Enable auto correction needs to be ON

now when you type your word shortcuts the substitution will appear at the space bar, hit it and BOOM!

No it doesn't. Your pictures have an enter key that proves they were not taken in the text messages app. In the text messages app the enter key is replaced by the word Send.

My mistake if you haven't entered a recipient the enter key doesn't get replaced with send. Regardless those settings don't work for anyone else. Those settings don't help.

What OS version are you running? by anyone else you mean you did tried and had others try it or?
try changing the settings first, then close the settings screen and try it again, try setting auto complete to off

My keyboard, autocorrect, and predictive typing work the same when composing an e-mail, text, or bbm message. Same as ealvnv I guess. Although there are lots of situations where it doesn't come on, like when typing in a browser window.

Your auto correct and word substitution doesn't work in the browser? Weird mine does.

Also as I mentioned in the other post unfortunately he didn't solve anything.
