I am not sure what previous BBs have been able to do on AT&T....so I'm just curious.
I hope if there isn't someone makes a tether like app to do it.
I have a Z10 in the U.S on AT&T LTE, there is an option for "Mobile Hotspot" and another one for "Internet Tethering". However, it is just like on the iPhone 5 where you will have to get a data plan that allows tethering, even if you have the old unlimited data plan, it won't work, they will try to get you to change it to one of their limited plan that allows tethering or to a limited shared data plan (because it allows tethering too).
One way to maybe do this without paying extra on your AT&T bill, is to use an app like "tether", but I don't think there is one available for BB OS 10 as of now. But that app isn't free. Sometimes 20$. But it is worth is, you only pay that once.
I hope this helps.
If its anything like before i would say NOPE its not free, so i hope for you people that FoxFi makes an app for you.
You can always SideLoad Pdanet it works awesome like many people use it.
Now the thing is you still may get caught no matter what program you use, but pdanet and foxfi so far for many people have not been caught yet.
Now i am in canada and i have a 5GB shared plan so my Playbook can share the data, when i want to hook up the laptop when i am u i will use pdanet, i never tried to find or tried to sideload foxfi yet, no need to do so as of yet, but maybe i will try it out sometime.
But in canada i can ue the hotspot feature np's on the phone so i not need pdanet, but hey its there now on my phone and laptop so i use when i can or want too.
AT&T offer something for free that they never did before?
I don't think so.
It definitely won't be "free" per se.
I'm thinking you will have to upgrade to one of their shared data plans or whatever. I did this when I upgraded a line on my account and I was able to use the mobile hotspot on my 9900 and I wasn't able to use it before I changed my plan. If anything, they're going to change your plan, tell you it's the best thing since sliced bread, and you will be able to use mobile hotspot and connect to a Playbook via bluetooth and use the data from your phone to surf the web.
AT&T + Free in the same sentence?
Have the zombies attacked?! :D

Most carriers do not offer free tethering anymore. I'm not with AT&T but I seem to remember them being originally against offering the free BlackBerry Bridge tether to Playbooks.
AT&T + Free? = unlikely.
