Even shop blackberry isn't selling the z30 anymore. So the z30 isn't actually a smart update imo

Why? It's getting the same updates as the Passport, Classic and every other BlackBerry 10 device.

OP, if you want it lighter than the original Z10 then you're looking at damn near iphone5 weight! that thing barely felt like anything was in it. I don't want my phone to be so damn heavy... but i want to feel like it's got guts inside. Love the Z10's weight as it is. Still getting used to my Z30's weight.

Yeah, BB will eventually lose their all touch audience which I guess is minimal so that's why they don't care about making an updated Z10. Although my Z10 is barely keeping my interest, there aren't many options for me unless I jump OS' which I don't want to do. I was getting ready to dump my POS Torch for a Droid until they announced BB10. But it's been almost 2.5 years. Take some of that money you saved Chen and make us the Z50.

Of course every bbphone after the z10 can be considered as a upgrade because it's newer. But for me the z30 isn't a smart update. It's just like going from a iPhone 4s to a iPhone 5 when there is also a iPhone 6 (or going from a s4 to a s5). If I update my z10 from 2013 I want more. Not only a bigger battery and bigger device.

Also the z10 from 2013 has de best resolution screen on a touch device if it comes to ppi. Even better than the z30. And like you said every bb still gets updates including the z10. So not really a upgrade there.

If you feel comfortable to buy (if you still can buy one) a z30 from 2013 in 2015/2016 and give it a spin for 2years till 2017/2018 I'm not holding you back. But count me out.

The LEAP is still a good phone to upgrade to from a Z10 but that's only if screen size and battery life are at the top of your priorities list. Otherwise, the Z30 is a much better upgrade in and around that price range.
I think the Leap is great for its cheaper cost of ownership but the Z30 is a better long-term investment. I wouldn't prefer Leap except if I'm totally broke.

PPI is the only thing better on the Z10. Not relevant for me. That's too bad. Because the Z30 is a much better device than the Z10.

I do not like iPhone for several reasons, but when you see them improving one model, you feel the progress. In addition to the comfort that I feel with my z10, I also want to experience feeling of progress, changes - sense of my personal development as a BlackBerry z10 user..
Our Z10's have done nothing but improved. Want to do something interesting? Go to Phone Arena and compare the specs on your Z10 to the iPhone 6. (the 4.7 version) other than the screen size look for differences.

BB simply cant catch up. At this point it's just too late. Apple and Android have the smart phone market to themselves. When my Z10 died I made the switch to iOS and while its not perfect it is a very good product. If it had the hub and a simple notification light it would be dam near perfect. BB was arrogant back in 07 and they have paid the ultimate price. They have become irrelevant in the smartphone industry
If you love consistently hitting a home button and utilizing an OS that really lacks at multitasking. Lots of apps though. Perception, not reality of the usefulness of the OS is what this is. I'll take my HUB, active frames and swiping all day.

The real problem here is the "All Day" part. Your days are numbered. Nobody wants to amit it but the time for BB and OS10 is rapidly approaching the end.

I don't think they'll shut down BlackBerry 10. Especially when they need the most secure mobile OS for governments and companies that require it. Yea developer relations are basically dead but it would make sense to keep BB10 for enterprise and have an android device for consumers.

I dont think they will Shut it down. What i mean is that it wont grow. Lets face it, The OS has not really had the time to mature. what you have now is probably as good as it will get.

So put it in limbo, then.

BBOS 7.1 is still ostensibly supported, but it hasn't been touched since 2012.

If the transition to Android is definite, then that'll probably be the case for BB10.

Blackberry 10 isn't introduced by/ a decision of John Chen, so if there is a way to secure android with BlackBerry software, bb10 is death. The phone market isn't a profitable market for BlackBerry anymore.

I understand that a lot of people are BlackBerry fans, I'm also a fan. But the truth is just that it isn't going well. How much news do you see on crackberry? Even N4bb.com is discontinued. Like other blackberry news sites.

Still believing that the z30 is a top notch device in 2015 is just a illusion. In my country people are paying with there fingerprints, logging in in there bankaccounts by making selfies of there face. What do I got with the z10....

This is the problem child of Blackberry Limited - you can not neglect modern customers expectations related to so-called annual hardware upgrade. Even automobile industry is issuing new models once per five and annual engine and electronic upgrade.
