Z10 processor Snapdragon MSM960 seems to have LTE built in to the chipset.

    It's a MSM8960... but the STL100-1 model doesn't have a Snapdragon processor, it's a TI OMAP.

    No LTE on the STL100-1.

So does that mean even with a OS update for STL-1, they won't be providing LTE since the hardware do not support it, isn't that right?

Don't believe what the consultants tell you(South Africa), they not clued up(maybe 5% are). They don't spend enough time hands-on with the device to test drive(get a feel, navigation etc) walked into a store the sales consultant clueless, someone wanted to purchase a BlackBerry Z10, whipped my bad boy out and actually demonstrated to the potential client and others looking in 10minutes the whole inventory sold. I didn't get any sales commission but did do a follow up with the store the following. The sales consultant is now well trained and clued up on the phone and nearly everyone walking into the store wants to get their greasy hands on the Z10.

Just a pity that bandwidth is a luxury in South Africa, miss the BIS days, no highway limit, but now with the highway impossed with a speed limit I am very careful, vigilant what I download...

LTE isn't stable at the moment on none of the networks, Reports:no throughput, etc. LTE devices should be out already if not they waiting to sell all the consignment.

Also do your homework before you purchase a device.
Check http://www.gsmarena.com/blackberry_z10-5251.php clearly ST100-2 is an LTE device.

Even with the latest updates 10.99... LTE will not be present as the device itself does not support LTE
