I dunno but DLNA media sharing is there.
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

As far as I know, DLNA doesn't provide functionality as S Beam (famous samsung sharing via touching the back) I hope that it'll be present in BB10, Z10, X10

Re: Wi-Fi Direct will be available in Z10 ?
It's like BT but uses Wifi radios instead. That makes it incredibly fast and gives it significantly more range.

Windows 8 supports it natively. Some printers support it. Etc.
DLNA has nothing to do with WiFi Direct.
S Beam is Android Beam that uses WiFi direct for transfers in lieu of Bluetooth. Proprietary to Samsung devices.
Wifi direct is unrelated to NFC, as well.
Some applications expose features through it, like Document Sharing features in OfficeSuite Pro on Android.

NFC is used to initiate the connection between devices and after that Wi-Fi Direct takes control for transferring large chunks of whatever you want (movie, song etc). I want that in BB10

If your device supports BT 3.0 +HS (or 4.0 +HS, etc.) then the BT connection uses a much faster connection for transfers, something like 20+ Mbps IIRC. However, I don't know of any non-Samsung Galaxy S devices that support it. Samsung has supported it since the first GS released. In that case BT is just fine (assuming both phones support it), but Beaming stuff between devices with raw NFC (requires phones to stay plastered to each other) or larger data with EDR BT connections just doesn't cut it for me :-P
It's way too slow. - 05-14-2013, 10:49 PM #10
