Can anyone tell me why there is no kobo app for os10??. Kobo being Canadian has a long hx with BlackBerry. I had it on my 9810, and have it now on my PlayBook. It seems strange to me that you can get Kindle and numerous other ebook readers, but not kobo. I'd love to able to read my purchased books while on the go. Anyone??

Hasn't been for a while and it shows. I used to get all my ebooks from them, now I've gone over to Kindle.

Oh man I didn't realize it wasn't Canadian anymore, that sucks. Never thought about the Web page, i'll give that a go for now. Haven't tried the side load thing yet tho it is on my to do list. I have downloaded Kindle but have not yet gone through the the steps of setting it up. You have to have an amazon account or something? A shame about kobo going down like that.

A few months back I inquired of Kobo by email and they said the were writing an app for Z10. It has not arrived.

Now their Website does not list any BlackBerry apps. Searching dies turn up the PlayBook and older BlackBerry apps but Jo mention of OS10.

I sent another email to them and it gas not been answered.

Kobo is more interested in using your Facebook account to provide free advertising than they are providing good service. A friend had trouble getting a book she bought loaded onto her PlayBook. She could read it on her PC. She called Kobo support and they told her they didn't have any software running on BlackBerry devices. That was all I needed to hear. I sideloaded Kindle onto my PlayBook and got the official port for my Z10, don't even go to the Kobo site anymore.

I mailed Kobo asking about when they are planning to release the app; this is what they said:


Hi there,

Thank you for contacting Kobo Customer Care. We are sorry to hear that you are not able to access the Kobo application on your BlackBerry 10.

We are aware of the issue and we are working to have the issue resolved. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide you with a time frame as to when you
will be able to access the application on your Blackberry 10.

I hope Kobo does a BB10 app. I've purchased over 70 books from them and have had good, reliable service on my PB from them. I too read a few weeks ago that they were working on a BB10 app. I hope it comes to pass.

Why, if you have purchased the book can't you convert the thing to something you can read it on? Hell even a simple text format.

You can, after you install python and download some gizmo to convert them. It's actually quite easy but the simple fact is that many of us went Kobo because of the PlayBook and I think BlackBerry should have included it with the BB10 phones.

Thankfully they are working on it, but it's not the point
