When i turn off my blackberry he Just don't turn off, he restart the Phone from the begining.

I don't get why it takes so long to cycle up when the phone is off. Whenever I fly I dread the start up because it takes sooo long. People start their phones at touch down and are talking/texting before the doors open. I'm out of the plane walking through the concourse before the phone is operational. And airplane mode isn't always an option, especially on a long flight. I land and have 50% battery remaining.
