    Device:
    -BlackBerry Z10 STL100-1
    -OS 10.3 (couldn't quite remember)

    Issue:
-Red blinky light of death/bricked device
-Received error message A:0x000000A2 from BlackBerry Link, as well as the error boot screens bb10-0005 and now bb10-0004

    Before this issue:
-I noticed VLC was playing kind of chunky/pixelated and stuttering, figured it might just be excess clutter... no clue, but I figured a wipe wouldn't hurt.
-I'd done 1 wipe before and it worked like a charm, no issues whatsoever and I've never had any issues with this device.
-So, I wiped the device... it got around half-way through and gave an error (bberror dot com /bb10-0005)

    After this issue:
-First I tried, several times, reloading the OS through BlackBerry Link. The first few times it kept giving the A:0x000000A2 error.
-Since that wasn't working, I tried an autoloader (10.3.2252), and another (10.3.2204), and another (10.3.0680)
-With these everything seemed fine, the DOS prompt did it's thing and the phone rebooted, but I got the bberror.com errors.
-The 10.3.2252 autoloader resulted in /bb10-0005, the 10.3.2204 and 10.3.0680 autoloaders both resulted in /bb10-0004.

So, now I don't know what else to do. It's a device I bought through eBay (a replacement for my original device, which was stolen) new in the box about 1 1/2 years ago so I'm not sure who I could take it to, if I had to, to get them to resurrect my device. Please help, I'm willing to try just about anything.

BB10-0004/0005 means the radio software is corrupt or missing, so either it was the wrong type of autoloader or the loader itself was damaged in download somehow. If you downloaded it in a zip/rar/7z archive, there should be verification hashes available to test, or you can use the testing feature of whichever archive manager you have.

The fact that you even tried the 10.3.2.2252 autoloader seems to indicate you're not being careful as to which one you are using, as none even exists for the STL100-1 (at this time).

Verification hashes?? Testing feature in my archive manager?? This is over my head. Please explain. I'm trying the oldest compatible autoloader I can find... I figure it shouldn't have any issue with 10.2.1 and I can just update the OS through the device... provided this works.

Trying 10.2.1.3502 first... I'll go from there.

Please make sure this time that you get the one for your specific device variant - Z10STL100-1. The one for the other models of Z10 will brick your device.

Just to confirm I'm trying the correct one...
    the only Z10 autoloaders/files for 10.3.02.2239 are:
    Z10_10.3.02.2239_STL100-2-3.7z
    Z10_10.3.02.2239_STL100-2-3.asc
    Z10_10.3.02.2239_STL100-2-3.chksum

Last I checked my device was STL100-1... does it matter if I'm using an STL100-2 or -3 loader?
I'm under the impression that if I don't know what an .asc file is or a .chksum then I should just leave them alone. Downloading the .7z file and giving this a go... once again.

Sooo.... in that case I can't use 10.3.02.2239 since there's no STL100-1 loader available

Going with 10.3.02.2204 again (didn't work the first couple times)

    Same error... bb10-0004. Trying again.

Yep. Same error. It runs through the DOS prompt pretty quickly after it's uploaded the RAM image, maybe in 1-2 seconds. It did this before when I would try the same autoloader again, like it already had all the files there.

So... is there any way I can just wipe the device completely and start from scratch? At least that way, I figure, the autoloader would actually work since the device wouldn't have anything else to conflict with it.

OMFG... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Please feel free to ridicule me when I say this, I'm an id1ot:

I was just about positive I have an STL100-1, pretty sure I'd seen that somewhere in the device. Either way, I just joking looked under the battery to see which one I am (since I was so sure) and guess what...

    F*ckin STL100-3 ...... somewhere there's a village missing it's id1ot. (why would they sensor the word id*ot??)

I guess the only question at this point would be... since I tried about 5 or 6 autoloaders, will there now be a bunch of junk files left on the device? Maybe I deserve that, I dunno. haha
