Good luck Jojo! The last time I had a phone unlocked, I just had the carrier do it. It was a $35 dollar charge I believe. But I think that the catch is that they will only do it if you have an active account for them to bill.
Thankfully, our work phones are through Telus who I needed to unlock my personal phone from (I use Virgin, personally) so they unlocked it through my business account with them and away I went.
I've also had luck with some random guy from Craigslist before. Dropped the phone off to him, he said that it would take a couple of hours, and then he called me before I even got back home. It probably took half an hour, altogether.
I know that sometimes it can be a real hassle for some but I just wanted to let you know that it's not all horror stories. Let us know how it pans out!

Well MonkeyTeq got back to me with a code in less than 24 hours ,yesterday I tried my new Sim adaptor from BestBuy,$10,and it went in and out very nicely, today was a different story as the adaptor was hard to put in without the nano sim falling out of the tray,I got I to go in but not perfectly so now it wont come out ,the adaptor is stuck and I don't want to pull it out and destroy the pins,so now I have to take off the inside cover and get a new adaptor before I find out if the code works,I hope it does, lol,,Big hassle!

He told me also he would refund my $ ,but I sort of feel for the guy.He was pretty good getting back to me promptly with support but now after trying other peoples sims the same thing happens,so now I guess I have to head on over to the repair shop to see if the reader is +uked.Reminds of numerous encounters I've had at the Auto garage, just gets worst and costs me a bundle in the long run.I tried sims without the adaptor,Micro, nothing works,oh well!

I can't remember if this was asked, but did you check to see if the IMEI or PIN is blocked? Usually you get a message telling you it is. But, who knows. And, why would you ask for a refund, looks like he unlocked your phone?

I get a notification showing the IMEI # is exactly the same as before I entered the unlock code, with an option to press OK,I checked with Bell and the phone is not blacklisted,I never asked for a refund,Mike at MonkeyTeq is a really nice guy, could be the sim card reader is kaput, have to go to a repair shop ,It Can't be the adaptor because when you put in somebodies Micro it still gives you the same result,It was interesting as he first gave me a 16 digit code and when that didn't work he told me to try the first 8 and it worked.

Hope the SIM issue isn't that the slot is already damaged by the adapter. I thought in general people were reluctant to use them because they so often cause damage.

As far as unlocking, looks like you have it covered (probably?) but I had excellent, quick results (less than 12 hrs) with FreeMyBlackBerry last December, to unlock a Z10 that AT&T insisted was on contract, even though I had paid in full for it and had their receipt to prove it. FreeMyBlackBerry charged $30 USD/$34 CAD.

    How about this?

    With Rogers and I did pay the 50 bucks and received the following ;

Now I'm not saying this is the code for you but using the Q10 instructions I unlocked my Z10.

If you look closely all the unlocking codes from Rogers seem to be similar no matter what the brand of phone.

Hopefully it'll work for my wife's LG G3 on my account. Haven't had the chance to try yet..

Bell will give you the code IF the phone is paid off AND you pay $50 for the code

    Posted via CB10
    Not exactly right.
Bell is effectively charging your 50$ to unlock a device, but only if your account is still open with them.

I've just get that in my face, not much else to do.
I'm presently rocking a factory unlocked BB Passport and keeping my Z10 has a backup.
Today I went to Bell Store to have my Z10 unlocked. They told me that it cost 50$ but unfortunately they can't do that in store and that I have to contact their support # for that.
I then go to Videotron an make the switch with them (the main objective here). All transfer smoothly with my Passport back up and running in no time.
When back home, I then contact Bell service # to get my Z10 unlocked..
...Buurrtt !? ... they told me that the 50$ fees was no longer available since I no longer have an account with them.. the fees are now 150$. No flexibility, not much else to do.
In fact I would had to reactivate my account, paying a 35$ activation fees, paying the 50$ fees to unlock it. Then go back to Videotron to reactivate it back (no mention if they would charge activation fees as well)
.... then go back home and put it in my file as backup... No sense.

    So now looking at alternatives...

I just us this site to unlock my Z10 on the Rogers Network http://www.quickphoneunlock.com/. I got the code in less than 12 hours. You can track your unlocking process. Once done you'll receive an email and Text if you would like. All for $20! Cheaper than the actual Carrier who normally would ask $35 - $50. I would recommend this site!
